We have been friends and neighbours for near 30 years – we could never have asked for better. We remember so many laughs over that time. Going to St Marys to see the Rolling Stones and the night at Southampton Guildhall for the Seasick Steve Concert. The sing along outside Daphne’s with Karen, Paul and Brian – you singing Stones numbers. Lovely memories.
We remember the care and kindness you showed us both when I was hospitalised (twice) and you would always be there for support and help.
We miss the impromptu Rock Concerts at the back of no 46 – always great music - but we miss the chats and laughter most of all. Its difficult to walk to the garage and not look to the back gate. So used to seeing you and Barney there.
You may have left us John but you will never be forgotten
God speed John – and thanks for always being there

Dearest John. So many happy memories, over so many years. You were always there for Paulie and me… no questions asked, just there offering support and friendship. You were the best friend and neighbour anyone could have. Not sure Mike and Steph will like my music as much as yours on a sunny Saturday afternoon but I will try to keep up the tradition. Go and find Paulie, Justin and Little Alf, Paint it Black and cause a riot - a happy one. Best Boy Barney is safe and being loved and cared for by Mark and Jacqui, so no need to worry. Me and Misty-Moo will miss you so much. With all our love, Karen and Misty-Moo. xx
